The latest version 11 release of Sybase iAnywhere's SQL Anywhere data management and synchronisation solution includes over 200 new features and enhancements, which are said to have been developed in the light of feedback from embedded partners and customers.

As examples, it now features enhanced parallel query capabilities; embedded full-text search; new data synchronisation options with the addition of new failover and load balancing options, background synchronisation and support for MySQL; and .NET and Perl stored procedures.

These last features are intended to ensure that developers can make the best use of their programming language experience to implement database business logic.

SQL Anywhere powers thousands of embedded and mobile database applications, and the company claims it has over 10 million deployed licenses.
