Trimble rebrands @Road in expansion drive

Trimble has rebranded @Road, the business that it acquired early last year. It is now known as Trimble Mobile Resource Management, or Trimble MRM.

The new organisation draws together the various strands of Trimble's activities in this market - notably vehicle and asset tracking, already Trimble specialities, and mobile field service and sales management, which were @Road strengths.

The company says that the new organisation represents 'a one stop shop for businesses wanting to optimise fleet performance and service delivery'. It specialises in three core disciplines - fleet productivity and management, mobile field service and sales, and field asset management.

Trimble MRM has already launched new products from both sides of the business into the European market. On the tracking side, its TrimWeb product offers businesses of all sizes simple and effective vehicle tracking from 71 pence per day, all-inclusive.

On the field service side, the company has launched version 8 of what it describes as its best in class scheduling product, Taskforce. This is the first new solution to be offered under the Trimble MRM banner, and the company says it underlines its continued commitment to the end-to-end management of field resources.

To reinforce its drive into European markets, Trimble MRM has appointed three new sales staff to its Ipswich-based office.

According to Andrew Yeoman, the company's managing director for the EMEA region: 'The endorsement of the Trimble name, together with our new appointments, gives us a fantastic platform from which to continue to grow.'
