Workshop document management from Microlise
A software system called FleetMan for helping vehicle fleet engineers maintain documents to the standards required for regulatory compliance has been developed by Microlise, the tracking, telematics and fleet management specialist. It can work in stand-alone mode, but comes into its own when linked to a telematics-based system using Microlise's in-vehicle Tracking Unit (MTU). In this situation FleetMan can provide real-time telematics 'snapshots' to assist in monitoring and managing road-worthiness in compliance with VOSA requirements. FleetMan aims to manage all aspects of document storage and management. It covers legal certificates, test certificates for vehicles and tail-lifts, servicing, repairs, inspections and leasing agreements. It can also store other documents defined by the user. As documents come due for renewal it generates automatic alerts, and continues to escalate these until renewal is carried out. Where desired, it can also provide VOSA with direct visibility of compliance.
Microlise says that combining this information with daily driver inspections and regular six-weekly maintenance inspections helps to ensure full road-worthiness at all times, maximising vehicle availability and optimising vehicle and driver safety. The system can be delivered as licensed software or hosted by Microlise.
