KK picks LXE for fine food picking in Flintshire
KK Fine Foods has chosen the recently-launched MX7CS cold storage handheld computer from LXE for barcode scanning of products at its site in Flintshire. The company says the MX7CS's ability to operate at temperatures down to minus 30 deg C made it ideal for handling product and order traceability within the company's cold store. 'The size and usability of the keys means that barcode scanning is quick, convenient and easy, even when the operator is wearing gloves,' says IT manager John Hughes. The units have been integrated with the company's existing ERP system. KK has also purchased a ServicePass agreement from LXE, which means it benefits from on-site repairs, helpdesk assistance and equipment configuration. KK Fine Foods is a leading supplier of high-quality ready meals for the foodservice industry. It combines traditional cooking methods, small batch cooking and classical 'sous vide' techniques with what it calls 'modern-day twists' to its recipes.
