New meter replacement contract at Anglian Water
Following the success of a previous water meter replacement programme (see feature in m.logistics, April/May 2008), Anglian Water has again chosen Multipart technology for a further replacement contract, this time initially involving the installation of 10,000 new water meters in the Ipswich area. A key to the previous implementation was the use of Multipart's Msys.MRM system – a technology-led job and mobile workforce management solution. This includes resource optimisation, real-time data capture and customer service support. Multipart uses this to control the whole process, which includes real-time scheduling and status tracking through the use of handheld terminals. This new contract again calls on the resource of Anglia's civil engineering partner, Groupbridge, whose staff will be installing the meters and undertaking survey activity on Multipart's behalf. The continuation of the use of the Msys.MRM system is said to reflect the fact that Anglia has seen a 20 per cent improvement in productivity since deploying it.
