Task management from Pinpointers
Tracking specialist Pinpointers has expanded into the mobile task management market with the launch of its Jobs Management Suite, which it describes as a fully integrated fleet management and navigation solution. The navigation aspects come courtesy of Garmin, for which Pinpointers has been appointed an authorised partner – Garmin's first in the UK. The Garmin nŸvi satnav range is supplied as part of the system (users can select any nŸvi device from the 300T model up to the 5000 series). The new suite handles driver communications, job management and despatch, driver routing and back-office visibility of job status. Pinpointers claims that it provides a better balance between back-office and mobile elements than rival systems, which it reckons tend to emphasise the back-office features. It says staff in the office are given up-to-the-minute status information on field workers, while the workers are routed to their destinations automatically and efficiently. The system also aims to make it easy for drivers to accept or reject jobs and exchange messages with the office, and guides them to each new call point. The suite is supplied complete with a fixed-price monthly messaging contract. This delivers outbound messages to drivers for no additional charge, and receives inbound messages from drivers at 'a fraction of the cost' of a text message or phone call.
