Blackberry support in latest iAnywhere system

Enhanced support for palmtop mobile devices is offered in the latest mobile application management suite from iAnywhere Solutions, the Sybase subsidiary. In addition to interacting with Windows CE And Palm OS devices, the iAnywhere suite can now include the RIM BlackBerry in an asset management system. And full support has been added for the latest Windows XP operating system.

The new suite, Manage Anywhere Studio, is said to feature enhanced security, better performance, and extended mobile device support. Security auditing comes high on the list of capabilities, and includes "self-healing technology" which, for instance, allows security settings within Web browsers to be configured automatically to meet the user's standards. There is also provision to distribute virus protection and other critical files unobtrusively to remote users with "smart packages".

Other new features include "intelligent bandwidth allocation" and faster transfer of large files.

iAnywhere has been one of the pioneers in providing central management of mobile devices, offering a platform-independent, device-independent solution for mobile networks.
