You've probably heard a lot about the attractions of integrating radio-frequency networked computing solutions with the enterprise resource planning systems that are used to manage many big organisations. But how does it work in practice?

KTP, the supplier of a middleware solution called mybarcode.com, could have the answer. It has set up an SAP Integration Showcase at its head office in Beverley, near Hull, where you can see a live implementation in action.

The team there can show you, for instance, how you can you can link SAP wirelessly between two sites; run a warehouse management system; retrieve variable data directly from SAP for printing on labels; and access the human resource management features of SAP remotely.

There are also demonstrations of stock management and serial number tracking, and monitoring service and support calls. Later KTP plans to add RFID tagging and work in progress tracking.

You can arrange a visit via the company's Web site.
