ITIS-Ford Th!nk uses tracking technology
A project is under way to study the utilisation of electric vehicles in London, and is using ITIS Holdings' NavTRAK data collection units to capture data automatically about journeys undertaken. The study is being done by TH!NK, Ford Motor Company's battery-powered electric vehicle subsidiary. There are 15 electrically-powered vehicles in the 18-month study, operated by companies which include BT, Sainsbury's, the Body Shop and the BBC. ITIS is will produce monthly reports giving details of the journey made, the date, time, mileage and location. The information from the NavTRAK units will be integrated with data from ITIS's Floating Vehicle Data (FVD) real-time traffic data capture technology.
