Field service solution from Overnet

A new field service management solution for GPRS-enabled pocket PCs has been launched by OverNet Data. M-Workforce allows mobile workers to view all details relating to a job on their Pocket PC. Workers get instant access to job schedules and job history information ­ improving coordination and communication with head office.

Features include live updates from the field to management on the status of each job; visit tracking; receipt of customer signatures on completion; and call logging. The software displays the customer's record, enabling the engineer to call the customer directly through a single press of a button. The system will also record whether a call was successful, and provides a notepad screen where the engineer can write notes about the call. These details are then stored in a call log file associated with the job.

 

M-Workforce utilises Microsoft's Pocket PC 2002 Phone Edition platform, together with a customised user interface and integration into back-end systems.
