April/May 2002 Pistol-grip Dolphin runs CE 3.0 The latest mobile computer to join the Dolphin series from Hand Held Products is pistol-grip model, the Dolphin 7450, which is aimed at high-volume transactions in retail, warehousing, distribution and manufacturing and transit applications. It runs the latest Windows CE 3.0 operating system, and is built round a high-performance Intel 206 MHz StrongARM processor. There are three alphanumeric key pad options, and other features include a large, easy to read 1/4 VGA display (with optional touch screen capability), and up to 256MB of Compact Flash memory for additional data storage. There is also a choice of three integrated imagers, plus a scanning option for long-range applications. The Dolphin 7450 provides omni-directional reading of many popular one-dimensional and two-dimensional symbologies, including PDF 417, MaxiCode and QR code. The multi-functional imaging technology also performs OCR (optical character recognition), as well as signature and photo capture. And you can drop it from a height of 5ft, since it meets IP-64 standards.
