Axxent slashes Day costs
Aggregates producer Day Group of Brentford says it has slashed its communications bill by over £14,000 a year following a communications audit and review by Surrey-based Axxent Voice & Data Communications. Day Group supplies of over 2.5 million tonnes of aggregate per year to the construction and civil engineering sectors. By switching 90 mobile workers to a "pay per minute" Vodafone tariff, Axxent says it has cut costs by a third. At the same time, the company's 40 truck drivers have switched from NB3 to mobile telephones. David Beckett, Day's facilities manager, says: "Axxent has enabled us to save costs and improve our efficiency in the way that we work, as the radios that were used previously had their limitations compared with mobiles. It is now much easier for our drivers to keep in touch with both customers and depots." The company is now looking into the benefits of Bluetooth wireless technology. Axxent acts on behalf of its clients, providing impartial advice and negotiating the best deals available from service providers.
