Supply chain software specialist i2 Technologies is moving into the mobile computing market. Its appropriately-named i2 Mobile Solution is designed to allow field personnel to collaborate more closely with colleagues and customers.

The first customer for the product is golf equipment manufacturer TaylorMade-adidas Golf. The solution allows inventory information to be captured automatically with Symbol handheld devices. At the same time, sales staff can now access data in real time, providing customers with order tracking and tracing visibility, and make delivery commitments more confidently.

The i2 Mobile Solution includes value chain management applications and platform, pre-configured Symbol mobile handheld devices, integrated security and network management tools and capabilities and data network.
