Support for the Microsoft Windows-powered Smartphone platform has been announced by ExpandIT Solutions, a leading provider of middleware for mobile enterprise ERP solutions.

The company says its ExpandIT BAS product allows systems integrators to implement, modify and support centrally maintained mobile ERP solutions deployed on Windows-powered mobiles. It runs on a cross-platform code base in offline, online and online-on-demand configurations. ExpandIT says prime users would be companies employing sales representatives, service technicians and project workers.

The original ExpandIT BAS was launched in May 1999, and is now said to have thousands of users.
