Location-based service specialist Whereonearth and mapping specialist Tele Atlas have joined forces to deliver location-based services to wireless provider Hutchison 3G. The first applications will be in the UK, and the service will then be rolled out wherever Hutchison has 3G licences in Europe.

Tele Atlas is supplying detailed street plans for over 30,000 cities in the UK and Europe. This data will be combined with routing and navigation information, including the infrastructure for roads and details such as one-way systems and points of interest such as motorway service areas, post offices, railway stations shopping centres and restaurants.
