Siemens works with Orsus to streamline its service operation

Siemens Communications, one of the leading producers of mobile devices and systems, has chosen Orsus Solutions as its partner in developing a mobile application for its own technical assistance centre (m.logistics, Issue 3).

The centre provides expert support for both field technicians and customers. With the new mobile application, field personnel will have direct access from their mobile devices to the company's knowledge base and to information related to their service calls, improving service levels and customer satisfaction.

The application will also automate the customer audit process, allowing information to flow directly from the technicians' mobile devices into back-end systems. Significantly, by using Orsus's SmartOffline technology, field engineers will be able to complete service calls whether or not a network connection is available.

Orsus will also provide comprehensive tools for the ongoing management and maintenance of the application. The Orsus Mobile Framework includes the Developer Studio, the J2EE-based Orsus Mobile Server, and the Management Console for managing users, devices and applications.

 

Being so intimately involved in mobile activities itself, Siemens Communications has taken an active role in managing and deploying the project.
