Mobile developers forum goes online
A useful new online resource for companies developing mobile computing applications is AppForum, or the Mobile Application Developers Directory. It's based in the UK, but aims to cover developers worldwide, and claimed to list 2,000 applications in a searchable archive when we checked. It says it aims to offer mobile application developers the chance to list their company, products and contacts within a single portal. Already the site offers unrestricted access to various kinds of information about dozens of developers worldwide, and suppliers are encouraged to sign up online. Eventually it aims to become a paid-for listing, but initially registration has been free. The site describes the directory as "self-service", but adds that editorial control ensures that high standards of content are maintained. It says it is supported by a dedicated team of professional editors, sales people and experts from the mobile industry. The company behind it is jointly owned by MarketClusters and FirstPartner.
