Nexus on-board system set for CV Show launch

Expected to be unveiled at the CV Show 2003 at the National Exhibition Centre this March is the production version of the Nexus on-board computer from ICS Black Box. Previewed at last year's show and featured in the very first m.logistics, the modular unit is designed to integrate easily with other on-board systems, and has what Black Box calls an open programming interface.

Black Box is also launching a GPRS version of its Fleet Log vehicle tracking system, which is expected to cost just £5 a month for line rental plus £1 per megabyte of data transmitted. A further innovation is what the company is calling its HiPer personal location system, which uses GPS and GSM technology to track people such as emergency service workers on foot.
