Pharmaceutical company streamlines field interaction

Sanofi-Synthélabo, one of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, has chosen Aspective, the e-business solution specialist, to provide what is termed a "customer information sharing system".

There are two elements to the system. In the field, it will allow the Sanofi-Synthélabo sales force to gather information such as visit records and customer contact details on pocket PCs, then synchronise it with a central data repository at the company's offices at the end of each day. The company sees definite benefits in enabling the team to collect information at the point of contact rather than retrospectively after the sales visit.

Back at base, the system will allow the information to be stored and analysed by a special computer application written by Aspective. This includes a custom-built data warehouse, plus business intelligence software that can extract customer and sales information, create reports and deliver critical analysis.
