Cambridge-based wireless applications specialist Commtag has launched what it claims is the world's first always-on mail system for mobile workers, Duality Always-On Mail.

Duality operates on Commtag's unplug+play wireless platform technology, which has been designed for the rapid development and deployment of applications allowing users of smart mobile devices to exchange information in real time.

"Bringing wireless data services to market is presenting new challenges that blur the lines between voice and data service sales," said Richard van Beckhoven, vice-president of sales at Commtag. "Whilst analyst research indicates that IT departments have at least joint responsibility for wireless communications in the majority of businesses, there is currently no single point for decision-making. Mobile voice or data resellers will find mobile services difficult to sell unless they understand how to link wireless working applications into core business infrastructure."

Commtag now has twelve partners promoting its products, including Axxent Voice and Data, Excell Group, Integrated Communications for Business (UK), ISIS Telecom, Kingston Smith Consultants, MoboTel and ncSOFT.
