Palm builds in hotspot connectivity
This is Palm's contribution to the growing momentum behind WiFi "hotspots" for mobile Internet access. It's a new version of its Tungsten PDA with Wi-Fi (802.11b) local-area network connectivity built in. The Tungsten C sits at the top end of the company's range in terms of features, with 64MB of memory and 400MHz of ARM processing power. And it has a 320 x 320 transflective TFT display, said to be Palm's sharpest to date, to allow comfortable indoor and outdoor viewing. The device comes with Chapura PocketMirror 3.1 for synchronisation with Microsoft Outlook, and is bundled with ten productivity, communication and entertainment applications, including printing software to allow you to access Wi-Fi networks and print directly to network printers.
