In-cab telematics and tracking equipment from GlobeTrac are likely to gain a much wider UK user base following a decision by Cybit to offer the range as the preferred hardware solution for cybitfleet.com, its Web-based telematics platform.

GlobeTrac, a US-based company with British headquarters in Hampshire, has a master distributorship agreement for Europe with WebTech Wireless, one of the leading American telematics suppliers. WebTech offers a range of equipment and solutions built round its Quadrant server and WebTech Locator in-vehicle GPS and telematics unit.

GlobeTrac has also secured distribution deals with two value-added resellers in France. They are Mobiloc, a subsidiary of TDF and part of France Telecom Group, which is using the equipment in real-time fleet management systems; and Apache Technologie, which is expected to adopt a complete GPRS end-to-end solution from GlobeTrac. GlobeTrac says further reseller agreements covering Italy, Switzerland, Greece and Turkey and in the pipeline.
