Group 4 Falck has chosen Telepartner Systems to provide a real-time data communications system for a field service operation involving 250 service engineers in Denmark. The company installs and maintains a range of critical security installations such as burglar alarms and closed-circuit television.

Its engineers do not necessarily all have the same kind of handheld computer device. Some, for instance, use Nokia 9210 smartphones, while others have PDAs such as the iPAQ. An important objective for Group 4 was therefore to find a system that could transmit data to and from them all, regardless of the hardware involved.

It says Telepartner's Mercury Server for Mobile Applications met this requirement, whilst at the same time providing an effective platform for hosting the company's task management software.

Telepartner also developed a field service application for the company, handling functions such as job receipt, reporting, asset management and job closure.
