Mobile synchronisation from Alpha Landsteinar
A software package called Mobile Client for helping synchronise mobile workers' computers with their corporate systems has been launched in the UK by Alpha Landsteinar. It's aimed principally at the sales and services sectors. The company says it allows users to manage functions such as sales ordering, service management and time management remotely. Consolidated data is linked directly into back-office systems, enabling head office staff to process orders, synchronise files, download updates and software changes, and respond to changing work schedules. There is a single point of maintenance for all software, which is able to work across all mobile devices and does not require the user to be online continuously. The new product is based on the established architecture of ExpandIT BAS, a business application server from Danish company ExpandIT, which is now being built into Alpha Landsteinar's existing mobile solutions. Alpha Landsteinar has bases in the UK, Ireland and Singapore, and is a major provider of systems from Microsoft Business Solutions (formerly Navision); hence its unexpected Internet address.
