SolutionsPlanet, a wireless solutions specialist, is claiming a world first for a software system that it says will allow Lotus Notes and Domino users to read email attachments including Word documents on any computer platform ­ even a small mobile phone.

This capability is part of version 3.0 of the company's mail-e-on-air product, which offers users wireless access to their Lotus Notes/Domino email and calendar systems.

Version 3.0 also allows users to access to mailboxes other than their own. The company says this will help people such as personal assistants who need to monitor the executive's inbox, or a company IT department, who may need to monitor emails sent to to "webmaster" and "info" addresses.
