Push mobile email from Extended Systems
As corporate interest in mobile email grows, Extended Systems, a leader in mobile information systems, has launched a wireless email system called OneBridge Mobile Groupware which aims to offer a comprehensive solution in this field. It says the system can offer always-on, always-connected email via its Internet-based Live Connect technology, and it supports both Microsoft Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes. Part of the appeal of its proposition is that it aims to cover such a wide range of connectivity options, including GRPS and wireless local-area network (including Wi-Fi). These can include fixed PCs, to which it connects via Bluetooth or cradle access. There is also the appeal of having a "push" architecture, in which users are alerted automatically when mail is received. OneBridge Mobile has been developed from the company's XTNDConnect Server product line. The company says the change in identity is intended to demonstrate its ability "to extend enterprise applications-from custom applications to groupware to CRM and ERP on one mobility platform."
