Adding mapping to your applications
If you want to incorporate mapping capabilities in your software, you might be attracted by a new package called Map&Guide Controls that has been launched by German-based digital mapping specialist Map&Guide. The company says it offers quick and cost-effective integration of mapping and routing functions into existing applications such as customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning; and it "will not accrue installation costs." The controls can be incorporated into either a single-user desktop solution or multiple systems supported by a network. It is also possible to switch between the two without significant programming effort, the company says. Although promoted as being its user-friendly and easy to install, the system does offer developers some power; for instance, when executing the source code, users can make alterations and enhancements for their own individual special requirements. The system supports Visual C++, Delphi, Visual Basic and the Microsoft .net framework.
