AquiTec, the supply-chain software specialist with a strong presence in the high-end retail and wholesale distribution centre market, has teamed up with mobile computer manufacturer Belgravium to offer a complete radio frequency communications solution to customers.

Under the deal, users of AquiTec's SCM/400 and SCM/e warehouse management systems will be able to integrate them with Belgravium's rugged handheld and truck-mounted RF terminals in a real-time comms network.

Functions handled by such as system might include goods-in procedures, picking assignments, put-away instructions and replenishment duties. When such activities are completed the RF terminals immediately feed data back to AquiTec's products to support real-time inventory management.

According to Karen Kelly, business development director for AquiTec, her company "is committed to offering the very latest in functionality and technology to enable clients to gain real competitive advantage."

 

Last year AquiTec and Belgravium worked together to implement a joint solution at Musgrave Super-Valu Centra's five major distribution centres in Ireland. The new deal extends that working relationship.
