Tracking system recovers truck in first month of use
Hill Trident, a steel fabrication specialist based in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, must have seen one of the quickest pay-offs to date for fitting a vehicle tracking and location system. The company has adopted a new system, Sat3 from Wire3 Technologies (described in Products & Systems, page 24). The system only went live in January, and at the start of February one of its vehicles was stolen, along with a load worth a reported £17,000. Thanks to the position reporting of the Sat3 system, police apparently caught up with the vehicle within 15 minutes, recovered the stolen cargo intact and made an arrest. Managing director Jim Hill is said to be "extremely impressed".
