If you're having an on-board computer, speed limiter or some other similar piece of equipment fitted to your vehicles, why not have any other conversion jobs you need done at the same time? That's the philosophy behind a high-tech van conversion workshop opened by Siemens VDO Trading, the specialist in vehicle electronics and tachographs. It's at Gravelly Industrial Park, the same industrial estate in north Birmingham that's been home to the company for many years, but at a different site. Steve Coffin, the general manager for fleets, says the development has been customer-driven, and reflects the fact that the company's staff already have the appropriate skills and equipment.
