Wireless advice from UK Online
If you're looking for an impartial and pretty non-technical overview of wireless networking and all that goes with it, you might like to have a glance at a new section of the UK Government's UK Online for Business Web site. It now has a whole section devoted to wireless communications. The organisation calls it a "pack", although what you'll actually find is a group of sections on different aspects (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, PDAs and so on) - some of which are downloadable as PDF documents, while others are HTML Web pages. There's also a PDF overview and checklist, although we weren't able to download this when we looked (nor could we call up the FAQ list). The advice is clearly put, and useful for non-experts. Much of it will be familiar to followers of the specialist press, but it's useful to find it all in one place. There's also a selection of case studies about named businesses from a range of industries (transport and logistics, manufacturing, marketing, hi-tech and so on).
