An access control system to speed the progress of vehicles in and out of depots has been launched by Maple, the vehicle security specialist.

It is integrated with Maple's Seal IT electronic door locking system. In its simplest form the driver offers up a transponder to the door unit prior to leaving the depot, and this records details about the load that are already programmed into the seal.

A more sophisticated version is also available, using RFID tagging to identify the vehicle.
