How to offer customers vehicle tracking information
If you operate delivery vehicles or coaches, and want your customers to be able to track their location online, you might be interested in a new product launched by telematics specialist Pinpointers. It enables you to give customers access to the same online tracking information you use to run your own fleet. Pinpointers is claiming this is an industry first. In practice, it has always been possible for other tracking systems to be adapted for use in this way, but Pinpointers has made a special feature of the system. For instance, it has introduced password protection so that only authorised users have access to tracking information. It has also added a time-related feature, so that people awaiting a delivery could be given access to tracking details just for a relatively short period leading up to the arrival of the vehicle. Pinpointers has also introduced the option for the tracking to be integrated with Distinctive Systems’ Coach Manager application. This allows bookings and movements to be linked automatically to a user-company’s public web site. Pinpointers also numbers commercial vehicle operators such as Orange, Procter & Gamble and Arqiva among its customers.
