Hitachi Capital Vehicle Solutions, which has emerged in recent years as a leading fleet management specialist in the UK, is working with telematics provider Eagle-i Telematics to provide what it describes as “an array of telematics enhanced fleet management services” to its customers.

The announcement of the strategic agreement, which will last initially for three years, comes hard on the heels of research by Hitachi revealing that 58 per cent of fleet managers believe that telematics technology will ultimately help to make fleets more environmentally friendly, and 42 per cent believe it will be able to deliver financial savings.

It decided that Eagle-i offered best-of-breed solutions in terms of technology innovation, business model and professional implementation services

Hitachi operates 45,000 vehicles, including cars, small, medium and large vans and large goods vehicles, as well as specialist ancillary equipment such as cranes and tail-lifts. It has a specialist commercial vehicle division at Trowbridge.
