DA Systems, a supplier specialising in mobile logistics and data solutions (especially for the courier market), has announced a product that integrates transport management with stock management functions.

Its Warehouse Management Transport System, or WMTS, is aimed at courier companies who also undertake strategic spare parts supply and inventory management for customers. It automates the lifecycle for inbound and outbound strategic parts operations, stock checks and moves, as well as processing returned parts.

WMTS uses wireless barcode scanners within the depot or warehouse, so staff can pick and pack stock within seconds of it being reserved. DA claims it is the first system that generates the delivery job at the point in the process when the stock is reserved.

An Internet interface gives customers full visibility of their own stockholding, and allow them to request fulfilment of items in one simple process.

 

Extra functionality ca also be incorporated, including for instance electronic POD capture and vehicle tracking.
