Concord drivers love mobile solution
Concord Couriers of Welwyn Garden City says it has cut costs and improved control room efficiency and customer service levels by implementing a new mobile data solution. It has chosen the Wireless Delivered system from Talecom. All 45 drivers have been issued with O2 XDA devices, which serve both as mobile phones and as data terminals, using O2's GPRS network. Collection requests can now be sent direct to drivers, and POD information can be transmitted back to base. The company has also introduced Talecom's satellite navigation and live tracking features. The company previously used Dolphin mobile radios, and says it investigated the mobile comms market extensively before opting for the new solution. Managing director Gary Daniel says: "It saves me money and my customers love it."
