Duplex scanner to speed POD and archiving process
An A3 colour scanner said to be capable of duplex (both-sides) scanning at black and white scanning prices has been added to the Panasonic range offered by UK-based distributor ImagingXtra. Panasonic's new KV-S7065C can feed up to 200 documents or 64g of paper at a time, handling any size of original from business cards to full A3 sheets, and can process 60 pages or 100 images a minute. It can automatically distinguish between colour and black and white originals through a binary colour distinction capability. Features include automatic cropping and de-skewing of scanned images. Like all Panasonic scanner units, the KV-S7065C can use either an ISIS or a TWAIN software interface, and can be connected to a computer through a USB or SCSI connection. So it should be compatible with most computer systems. ImagingXtra also supplies consumables such as rollers, and points out that as they are easy to replace, they don't require a technician with special tools. Document scanning is becoming an increasingly important feature in online proof of delivery and track and trace systems, so products like this new unit are finding growing appeal in the transport world.
