Volvos Dynafleet goes all-Web
News of an updated Dynafleet Online telematics system from truck maker Volvo was coming in as m.logistics closed for press. The revised system continues to use a pop-up monitor and keyboard in the cab, but back in the office, functionality has been transferred to the Web, so that there is no need for users to install bespoke software to use it. Messaging is handled by SMS text messages, and the Web screens have an input interface designed to resemble an email program. There are also remote tracking and location functions, as well as a range of reporting options listing information on driving and non-driving time and on truck performance. Users pay for the whole package through a single monthly fee. There are several options, depending on the amount of information required and on whether the vehicle is a Volvo or not. We hope to bring you more technical details in our next issue.
