The roll-out of a mobile field service solution for BSkyB installation engineers is said to be unfolding rapidly. Around ninety engineers a week have been trained and issued with new handheld equipment, and so far about 1,000 Sky installers are believed to be fully-equipped to use the new system.

The solution is based round a product called IdestaNow! Service, and is already said to be providing substantial savings and helping BSkyB achieve supply-chain efficiencies.

Idesta specialises in mobile enterprise applications, which can range from van sales to comprehensive field service automation, and can link its systems with a wide range of third-party products and applications.
