Lightweight headset with a memory

If you're using a voice recognition system in a warehouse, it's likely that your pickers will need to be wearing headsets to receive their instructions. Good news for them, then, with the announcement that Vocollect has introduced a new lightweight headset weighing just 153g.

Its SR-20 Headset is intended specifically for industrial and distribution centre environments where background noise, temperature and humidity range to extreme levels. It is intended to complement the company's Talkman T2 mobile wearable computer, and is said to bring improvements in clarity, comfort and reliability.

An innovative feature is a microphone with a "memory" that can be positioned easily in the individual user's preferred position. It is fitted to an adjustable boom, is bi-directional, and is also noise-cancelling and waterproof.

Trial users are said to have commented: "I forgot I was wearing it." Sounds encouraging.
