Palm doubles memory
PalmOne claims to have doubled the amount of memory found in previous PDAs with its latest Tungsten T5 model. It has 256MB of flash memory (this is the type that retains content without an electrical supply, like a hard disk). In its publicity the company is majoring on the sheer amount of data the device can store ("thousands of appointments and contacts, hundreds of emails and documents"). The T5 comes in a new slimline casing, and features an Intel 416MHz XScale processor, a high-resolution 320x480 colour screen and Bluetooth wireless connectivity. There is also a rather nice add-on external keyboard with docking cradle, allowing the unit to be with the screen in landscape mode to increase the text width.
