Analogue and digital tach chart analysis
Although digital tachographs may be just round the corner, the conventional analogue type will still be around for a long time to come, so fleet operators might be drawn to a third-party chart analysis service that aims to combine reporting data from both types of instrument. It's been launched by TruTac, a long-time chart analysis specialist, and uses a Panasonic image scanner supplied by ImagingXtra to capture data from conventional tach charts. This is provided in a package along with TruControl software. Result: whether analogue or digital, the user's tachographs can provide electronic output for fast analysis. TruTac aims to analyse and report on all charts within 24 hours, and its output is said to include advanced reporting on compliance with the Working Time Directive.
