More takers for trailer tracking system
A series of customers have recently adopted the trailer-based tracking system from TISS, including Nestlé, Littlewoods, Reality and NCP Car Parks. The combined value of these orders alone is put at around £150,000. Mike Marshall, head of security at Reality, is reported as saying that TISS has provided us with a solution tailored to its business needs. "Their training, backup and ongoing support have been first class." TISS's TrailerSafe software can be set either to track a vehicle live or simply to show the location of the whole fleet once a day. The system also records journey times and delivery and turnround times, as well as displaying overall vehicle utilisation statistics. Prices starts at £10 a month. A distinctive feature of the TISS portfolio is a £400 system called LoadSafe, which sounds a 120-decibel alarm if an intruder tries to gain access to the trailer. It can be linked to the GPS tracking device to disarm the system at depots and delivery points. Insurance discounts are said to be available to TISS users, including a 15 per cent goods in transit discount at www.truckinsurance.com.
