Cybit adds phone tracking with mapAmobile acquisition
mapAmobile, the mobile location service, has been acquired from MI International by Cybit, the fast-growing telematics provider, which gains a GSM phone-based tracking solution to add to its existing portfolio of GPS-based products. mapAmobile works on the O2, Vodafone, Orange and T-Mobile networks, and the corporate edition is said to have been deployed in around 40 UK organisations. There is also a consumer offering can be purchased either online or through retailers such as Carphone Warehouse. Cybit says mapAmobile will be particularly effective for tracking the movement of phones over a specified time period to help maximise mobile workforce efficiency, as well as in providing a tracking solution for businesses using subcontractors or temporary staff. Cybit says it has now supplied over 500 UK and European organisations with tracking, fleet and asset management and vehicle sharing solutions.
