Good handheld support gets better
If you're running Pocket PC or Palm- OS-based mobile communication devices, you may be able to integrate them more easily with your corporate computing system following the launch of new products by Good Technology, a specialist in corporate wireless messaging and data integration. GoodLink 4.0 uses "Secure Over-The-Air" (OTA) technology to make possible ultra-secure and very low-cost wireless system administration. Essentially it allows remote updating of mobile devices to reflect software or policy changes, and also allows businesses to deliver third-party software to handhelds wirelessly. It also incorporates a new technology called Global Connect, which is said to provide connectivity through any GPRS or CDMA mobile network operator in any country around the globe, offering greater international support without roaming. There are also end-user attractions in the GoodLink 4.0 system, which is said to provide a 300 per cent boost in over-the-air synchronisation speed and up to a 25 per cent increase in battery life.
