Telepartner adds mobile email to field service offering
Field service staff can look forward to "a comprehensive email facility to service personnel in the field at a fraction of the cost of competing solutions". That's the promise of Telepartner Systems, which has launched an email add-on to its existing Web-based wireless field service solution. Using field devices such as the Xda II PDA, mobile workers can now use email for queries and routine interactions, alongside other features such as GSM voice communications, "WebText" mobile group SMS texting, plus the company's live ServiceNet forms-based application for job despatch. ServiceNet is available as a Web-based subscription service on a pay-as-you-go basis, using GPRS wireless communications. The only capital cost is that of Xda II PDAs or preferred client device.
