Wireless supply chain launched
Wireless network specialists may thrive on the promise of streamlining clients' supply chains, but they have their own supply-chain problems too - notably that of getting hardware from suppliers all round the globe to the right place at the right time. Two logistics groups, ACR Logistics and Mobiltron, have therefore got together to offer what they describe as a one-stop-shop supply-chain service for the wireless market. They say they can help provide speed to market and limit customers' exposure to inventory excesses, delivering a "demand-driven" supply chain and saving users from tying up capital in surplus stock. Local support will also be provided in each country to deliver aftermarket services such as warranty repairs and returns. ACR is a subsidiary of US-based investment group Platinum Equity, and says it employs over 6,000 people at 60 sites in the UK alone. Mobiltron Europe is a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Mobiltron Group.
