Solutions @ Work, a leading office furniture distributor and installer, says it has improved productivity by 15 per cent since installing a real-time fleet and asset management solution in the 40 vehicles used by distribution and fitting teams. It is using the Fleetstar-Online and Smartnav systems from Cybit.

The company says its drivers' destinations frequently change, and the new package has enabled it to re-route vehicles quickly and safely. The net result, it says, is that it can offer "heightened levels of customer service".

There were two main business drivers behind the company's original acquisition of telematics solutions, according to director Steve Cuthbertson. While cost was one, he says, "more important was achieving greater reactivity and increased customer service." He adds that the Smartnav satellite navigation system was seen as "a big positive".
