Gas safety compliance certificates go by wireless
Total Electrical and Mechanical Services, a gas service and maintenance company based in Croydon, says it has "revolutionised" its business by setting up a mobile reporting solution from LetsComIT. A key benefit brought by the system, says the company, is the way it enables engineers to create and complete CP12 forms and send them back to base. These are the Landlord Gas Safety Certificates introduced by the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998, which have to be filled in following gas servicing, and provided by landlords to tenants. The forms can be created in their entirety on a PDA, says TEMS, capturing both engineer and customer signature. Once complete, the engineer can sent the logged time of completion and job details back to base automatically, along with the CP12 form, and the TEMS database is instantly updated. LetsComIT says it tailored the mobile solution to TEMS' specific needs, aiming to provide a scheduling system that would give management "the big picture" of its workforce. The system has been integrated with TEMS' implementation of the AccuServ call management system from InterNETalia, which means detailed job information can be sent to an engineer as soon as the call is taken. LetsComIT, part of the French-based CTI Groupe, provides a range of fully customisable PDA-based solutions for industry.
