A thermal printer with integrated magnetic card reader has been developed by TouchPoD, a Manchester-based printer specialist. It is aimed at any operation where employees need to issue a receipt. The magnetic-card option makes it possible for users to take payment on site - for instance, when additional services or goods are held on board the vehicle, but were not included on the customer's original order.

The printer module in TouchPoD offers standard 2in and 3in paper widths (58mm and 80mm), and the paper roll holder is a drop-in design for fast loading. As well as a magnetic stripe card reader, TouchPoD has laser and barcode reader options, smartcard readers, and infra-red and USB ports for data pens.
